cronable
Asana integration

Asana automation where requests become tasks on their own.

Requests arrive by form, email and chat; Asana is where they should end up. Cronable creates the task with an owner and a due date, comments when something changes elsewhere, and reacts when the project itself moves.

A Asana workflow on the canvas

Each card is one job. A wire means the next job runs when the one before it succeeds, or when it fails.

Or type it to the assistant

“When someone submits my Typeform request form, create an Asana task in the Requests project and tell the owner in Slack.”

What you can do

Every Asana step Cronable ships

Actions

Steps a workflow can take in Asana.
  • Create a task

Add a task to a project with a name, notes, assignee and due date.

  • Add a comment

Post a comment on a task.

  • List tasks

Return a project’s tasks, all or only incomplete ones, choosing which fields come back.

  • Get a task

    Read one task’s details.

  • Check the account

Read the user the token belongs to.

  • Custom request

    Any other Asana REST endpoint.

Triggers

What starts a Asana workflow.
  • Asana webhook events

Register an Asana webhook pointed at the job’s hook URL and each batch of events, such as a task added or changed, starts a run. Cronable completes Asana’s handshake, keeps the signing secret Asana generates and verifies every later delivery.

Popular workflows

Asana workflows worth automating first

01

Form requests to tasks

Each Typeform submission creates an Asana task in the right project with the answers in the notes, and Slack tells the owner.

02

Failures become tasks

A job’s failure handler creates an Asana task with the error output, assigned to whoever owns that workflow.

03

Monday workload summary

List incomplete tasks across a project every Monday and let an AI step write a short summary of what is due and what is slipping.

04

Completed work, announced

The Asana trigger fires on task changes; a For each step goes through the batch and posts completed tasks to the team channel.

How you connect

Connecting Asana

Asana connects with a personal access token. Paste it once.

  1. 1Create a personal access token in Asana’s developer console.
  2. 2Store it as a bearer token credential and pick it in the job.
  3. 3For the trigger, register a webhook on the project or task you want to watch, pointed at the job’s hook URL. Events arrive through Cronable’s relay, from the Basic plan up.
Why Cronable

Your Asana automation, on your own machine

Runs on your own machine

Install Cronable as a Mac or Windows app, or on a server you own. Your Asana jobs, secrets and run history stay on that machine by default.

Built from one sentence

Describe the workflow in plain English and the built-in assistant builds the jobs, the schedule and the failure handling for you to review on the canvas. On every plan, including Free.

Unlimited runs

Plans count the jobs you define, not how often they fire. A job that touches Asana every hour costs the same as one that runs once a month.

Credentials encrypted locally

Keys and tokens are AES-256-GCM encrypted in a local database, referenced from jobs by name and masked out of logs and run output.

Questions

Asana automation, answered

Can Cronable create Asana tasks?

Yes. It creates tasks with an assignee and due date, posts comments, lists and reads tasks, and calls any other Asana endpoint with a custom request.

What does Asana need to connect?

A personal access token from Asana’s developer console. There is no OAuth app to register.

Can an Asana change start a workflow?

Yes. Register an Asana webhook pointed at the trigger’s hook URL. Asana sends events in batches, so put a For each step under the trigger to handle each event.

How are Asana webhooks verified?

Asana sends a one-time handshake when the webhook is created. Cronable answers it, stores the secret Asana generates, encrypted, and checks the signature of every later delivery. There is nothing to paste.

Where is my Asana token kept?

Encrypted in Cronable’s credential store on your own machine, and masked in logs.
