cronable
Notion integration

Notion automation, from your own machine.

Cronable writes to Notion the way a careful teammate would: a brief before the meeting, a page for each new request, a dated line on the running log. It reads databases too, so a workflow can act on what your team already tracks there.

A Notion workflow on the canvas

Each card is one job. A wire means the next job runs when the one before it succeeds, or when it fails.

“Fifteen minutes before each meeting on my calendar, write a prep brief and add it as a page in my Notion Meetings database.”

Actions

Steps a workflow can take in Notion.
  • Query a database

Return a database’s rows, with an optional Notion filter and paging, so later steps can work through them.

  • Create a page

Add a page inside a database or under another page, with a title, properties and body text taken from earlier steps.

  • Append to a page

Add text to the end of an existing page or block. Made for running logs and daily notes.

  • Search

Find pages or databases the integration can see, by their title text.

  • Custom request

Call any other Notion API endpoint with your own method, path and body.

Triggers

What starts a Notion workflow.

Notion has no trigger in Cronable. A Notion workflow starts on a schedule, after another job, or from a trigger elsewhere: a calendar event, a form response, a GitHub release.

Popular workflows

Notion workflows worth automating first

01

Meeting briefs in Notion

Calendar watch fires before each meeting, Claude drafts the likely purpose and a few sharp questions, and Notion gets a new page in your Meetings database.

02

Form responses into a database

Each Typeform submission becomes a Notion page with the answers mapped to properties, so requests land where the team already triages them.

03

A daily changelog page

At the end of the day, a job lists recently closed GitHub issues and appends a dated summary to one running Notion page.

04

Weekly project review

Query a projects database every Monday, let an AI step flag what looks stalled, and post the short list to Slack.

How you connect

Connecting Notion

Notion connects with an internal integration secret. Paste it once; there is no OAuth app to register.

  1. 1In Notion, create an internal integration for your workspace and copy its secret.
  2. 2Store it in Cronable as a bearer token credential under Settings → Secrets → Credentials.
  3. 3Share each database or page the workflow touches with the integration, from the page’s Connections menu. Until you do, Notion answers “not found”.
Why Cronable

Your Notion automation, on your own machine

Runs on your own machine

Install Cronable as a Mac or Windows app, or on a server you own. Your Notion jobs, secrets and run history stay on that machine by default.

Built from one sentence

Describe the workflow in plain English and the built-in assistant builds the jobs, the schedule and the failure handling for you to review on the canvas. On every plan, including Free.

Unlimited runs

Plans count the jobs you define, not how often they fire. A job that touches Notion every hour costs the same as one that runs once a month.

Credentials encrypted locally

Keys and tokens are AES-256-GCM encrypted in a local database, referenced from jobs by name and masked out of logs and run output.

Questions

Notion automation, answered

Can Cronable create Notion pages?

Yes. A Notion job can create a page in a database or under another page, append text to a page, query a database, search, or send a custom request to the Notion API.

Do I need a Notion OAuth app?

No. An internal integration is enough: Notion gives you a static secret, you store it in Cronable, and you share the pages it should reach. Nothing to publish and nothing to get approved.

Where is the Notion secret stored?

On the machine running Cronable, encrypted in its credential store. It travels only in the request’s Authorization header and is masked in run logs.

Why does Notion say “not found”?

The integration has not been given access to that page or database. Open the page’s ⋯ menu, choose Connections and add your integration; the next run will see it.

Can a change in Notion start a workflow?

There is no Notion trigger, but a scheduled query can stand in for one: check a database every hour with a Notion filter on last edited time, and let the next step act on what changed.

Anything you do twice in Notion is cronable.

Whatever you copy into Notion by hand every week can copy itself.
