Airtable automation with no run meter.
Airtable is often where a small team keeps its real data. Cronable adds a record the moment an order, payment or signup happens somewhere else, and reads filtered views back out for reports, without counting how many times a workflow runs.
A Airtable workflow on the canvas
Each card is one job. A wire means the next job runs when the one before it succeeds, or when it fails.

Actions
Steps a workflow can take in Airtable.List records
Return a table’s records, optionally filtered by an Airtable formula such as {Status} = 'Active', in the order a view shows them, capped and paged.
Get a record
Fetch one record by its ID.
Create a record
Add a record from a JSON map of field names to values. Turn on typecast and Airtable creates a new select option instead of rejecting an unknown value.
Custom request
Read any other Airtable API path, such as the table schema of a base.
Triggers
What starts a Airtable workflow.Airtable has no trigger in Cronable. Airtable workflows start on a schedule, after another job, or from an event in another app, such as a Stripe payment, a Typeform response or a new Shopify order.
Airtable workflows worth automating first
Payments into an orders base
A Stripe trigger fires on each successful payment, Airtable gets a new record with the customer, amount and date, and Slack tells ops.
Form answers as records
Typeform responses become Airtable records automatically, so applications or bookings arrive already structured.
A weekly view digest
List the records in your Overdue view every Monday and email the owner a tidy list, oldest first.
AI classification queue
List records still missing a category, ask an AI step to classify each one, and create the results as records in a review table.
How you connect
Connecting Airtable
Airtable connects with a personal access token. Paste it once; no OAuth app involved.
- 1Create a personal access token in Airtable’s developer hub.
- 2Give it data.records:read to list and get records, data.records:write to create them, and access to the bases the workflow uses.
- 3Store the token as a bearer token credential in Cronable and pick it in the job.
Your Airtable automation, on your own machine
Runs on your own machine
Install Cronable as a Mac or Windows app, or on a server you own. Your Airtable jobs, secrets and run history stay on that machine by default.
Built from one sentence
Describe the workflow in plain English and the built-in assistant builds the jobs, the schedule and the failure handling for you to review on the canvas. On every plan, including Free.
Unlimited runs
Plans count the jobs you define, not how often they fire. A job that touches Airtable every hour costs the same as one that runs once a month.
Credentials encrypted locally
Keys and tokens are AES-256-GCM encrypted in a local database, referenced from jobs by name and masked out of logs and run output.
Airtable automation, answered
Can Cronable add records to Airtable?
Yes. It creates records, lists and filters them by formula or view, fetches one by ID, and reads other Airtable API paths with a custom request.
What kind of Airtable token does it need?
A personal access token with the scopes your jobs use: data.records:read for reading, data.records:write for creating, plus access to the right bases. No OAuth app.
Where is my Airtable token stored?
Encrypted in Cronable’s credential store on your own machine. Jobs refer to it by name, so it never sits in a job file, and it is masked in logs.
Can an Airtable change trigger a workflow?
There is no Airtable trigger. A scheduled job that lists a filtered view, such as records created today, can stand in for one.
Is there a limit on how often it runs?
Not from Cronable. Plans count the jobs you define, not their runs, so a job that reads Airtable every hour costs the same as one that runs monthly. Airtable’s own API rate limits still apply.

Anything you do twice in Airtable is cronable.
If the same record gets typed into Airtable twice, the second time is optional.
