cronable
Short-term rental automation

Every booking handled, the moment it lands.

Cronable connects to Hostaway, and through it to the Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com bookings it manages for you, and runs the routine around every stay: the guest welcome, the turnover task, the cleaner’s calendar and the bookings log. It runs on your own computer or a small server, works through your own Hostaway API key, and keeps every run on record. Describe a workflow in a sentence and the AI assistant builds it.

On the canvas

One new booking, four jobs at once

A Hostaway booking fans out to everything the stay needs. If the welcome message fails to send, you get a text instead of the guest getting silence.

Integrations

The tools your week is made of

A rental business runs on a channel manager, a phone, a calendar the cleaners can see and a spreadsheet for the numbers. These are the integrations this page uses.

H

Hostaway

List or get reservations, message a guest through the channel inbox, email, SMS or WhatsApp, block or price dates on a listing’s calendar, create a task, or send a custom request to the Hostaway API.

Integration details
H

Hostaway watch

Fires once for each new reservation, either by polling Hostaway or by Hostaway’s webhook. The first poll sets a baseline, so your booking history is never replayed.

Integration details

SMS (Twilio)

Text a guest, a cleaner or yourself from your own Twilio number.

Google Calendar

Google Calendar

Create an event on the cleaners’ shared calendar, or list what’s coming up.

Integration details
Google Sheets

Google Sheets

Append each booking to a revenue sheet, or keep monthly totals in an owner workbook.

Integration details

Slack

Drop each new booking into the ops channel.

Integration details
Telegram

Telegram

Get the gap-night alert on your phone through your own bot.

Integration details
Gmail

Gmail

Send the monthly owner summary from your own address.

Integration details
Claude

Claude (API)

Turn a month of booking totals into a short, readable note for an owner.

Workflows

Four rental workflows, step by step

Each one is a chain of jobs built from real Cronable job types, using exactly what the Hostaway integration supports.

Every new booking, handled in parallel

When a guest books one of your listings…

  1. 1The Hostaway watch trigger fires once for the new reservation, with the guest’s name, dates and conversation ID.
  2. 2A Hostaway step sends the welcome and check-in details into the guest’s booking conversation.
  3. 3A second Hostaway step creates the turnover task with the checkout date in its title, and a Calendar step puts the clean on the cleaners’ calendar.
  4. 4A Slack step drops the booking into the ops channel, and a Sheets step logs it to the revenue sheet.
  5. 5If the welcome fails to send, a failure handler texts you, so no guest is left waiting.

Every arrival gets the same welcome and the same prep, whoever is on shift.

Gap nights spotted every morning

When there are empty nights coming up…

  1. 1A daily schedule at 07:00 runs a Hostaway step that lists reservations.
  2. 2A Code step skips cancellations and works out which nights in the next 14 days are unbooked.
  3. 3A Filter step stops the chain on mornings with no gaps.
  4. 4A Telegram step tells you which nights are open. Want it automatic? A Hostaway step can set a lower price for those dates on the listing’s calendar instead.

Empty nights get a price drop or a promotion while there’s still time to fill them.

A thank-you on checkout day

When guests check out…

  1. 1Hostaway watch fires on new bookings only, so this one runs on a daily schedule: a Hostaway step lists reservations.
  2. 2A Code step keeps the stays that end today and skips cancellations.
  3. 3A For each step runs once per departing guest, and a Hostaway step sends each one a thank-you with a review request.
  4. 4A Collect step gathers the results, and any message that failed goes to you on Slack.

Every guest hears from you on the day they leave, without anyone watching the calendar.

Owner reports that write themselves

When the month ends…

  1. 1A monthly schedule runs a Hostaway step that lists reservations.
  2. 2A Code step totals last month’s nights and booking value per listing, from the fields Hostaway returns.
  3. 3A Sheets step appends the totals to the owner workbook.
  4. 4A Claude (API) step writes a short summary of the month, and a Gmail step sends it to you to check and forward.

Month-end reporting starts from finished numbers instead of an export.

What changes

What changes for hosts and managers

The routine runs on its own, and you step in for the exceptions.

Guests hear from you fast

The welcome goes out within minutes of the booking, or at once with Hostaway’s webhook, at 3pm or at 3am.

Turnovers don’t slip

Every booking creates its clean and its calendar entry the same way, so nothing depends on someone copying dates by hand.

You hear about the exceptions

A message that fails to send, or a step that errors, runs a failure handler. You get a text, not a bad review.

You decide where guest data goes

Your Hostaway API key stays encrypted on your disk and masked out of every log. Reservation data goes only where your workflow sends it — through the relay if you use Hostaway’s webhook, to a model step if you add one.

The numbers you report on

  • Time to first guest message
  • Occupancy and gap nights
  • Turnovers missed or late
  • Review rate after checkout
  • Hours spent on owner reporting

We don’t promise figures. Cronable records every run, so you can measure these yourself, before and after.

Questions

Short-term rental automation, answered

Does it work with Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com?

Through Hostaway. Cronable’s integration talks to the Hostaway API, so it sees the reservations Hostaway manages from those channels and can message guests through the channel inbox. There is no direct Airbnb integration. If you use another channel manager with an API, an HTTP job can call it with a stored credential.

Exactly what can the Hostaway integration do?

The action lists and gets reservations, sends a guest message by channel inbox, email, SMS or WhatsApp, blocks or prices a date range on a listing’s calendar, creates a task, and sends custom requests to the rest of the Hostaway API. The Hostaway watch trigger fires on new reservations, not on cancellations or check-outs, which you handle on a daily schedule. Hostaway’s reservation list has no status filter, so a code or filter step separates confirmed stays from cancelled ones.

Where does my Hostaway API key live?

On your machine. It is stored as a credential, with your Account ID as the username and the API key as the password, encrypted with AES-256-GCM in a local database. Workflows refer to it by name, and neither the key nor the token it is exchanged for is ever logged.

What happens if a message fails to send?

The job can retry with backoff, up to 20 attempts. If it still fails, the steps that depended on it don’t run and a failure handler fires instead: text yourself, post to Slack or open a task. Cronable can also email you whenever any job fails.

Do I need a webhook or a server?

Neither. Hostaway watch can poll Hostaway every few minutes from your own computer, with no inbound URL. For instant delivery, switch it to Hostaway’s webhook, which arrives through Cronable’s hosted relay on a paid plan. Cronable runs as a Mac or Windows app or on a server, and it runs while that machine is on, so most hosts use one that stays on.

What does the AI assistant do?

Describe a workflow, such as “when a booking comes in, send the welcome and put the clean on the calendar”, and it builds the jobs, the schedule and the failure handling on the canvas for you to check. It has no shell, browser or file tool and never sees a secret value. Anything it runs, and any change that could make a job run on its own, asks you to confirm first, and goes through the same roles and approvals as your own changes. For a team, Business adds SSO, role-based access, the audit trail and four-eyes change approval. It’s on every plan, including Free, with a daily message allowance.

How many properties can it handle?

Cronable is priced by jobs, not by listings or runs. One booking workflow can cover every listing on your Hostaway account, or you can point a trigger at a single property.

Automate your operations.

Cronable is launching soon. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you the moment self-serve accounts — and the apps for Mac, Windows and Linux — go live.

Every booking, cronabled.
