cronable
Discord integration

Discord automation, no bot to host.

Cronable posts to Discord through a channel’s incoming webhook, the simplest way to send notifications with no bot or application to run. Release notes, server alerts and daily digests land in the right channel, sent from your own machine.

One workflow, end to end

A Discord workflow on the canvas

Each card is one job. A wire means the next job runs when the one before it succeeds, or when it fails.

Or type it to the assistant

“When I publish a GitHub release, write friendly release notes with Claude and post them to #announcements on Discord.”

What you can do

Every Discord step Cronable ships

Actions

Steps a workflow can take in Discord.
  • Post a message

Send up to 2,000 characters to the channel the webhook belongs to, with data from earlier steps.

  • Set the sender name

Optionally override the display name the message appears under, such as Build bot or Backups.

Triggers

What starts a Discord workflow.

Discord is an action in Cronable: it posts, it does not read the channel. Start a Discord workflow from a schedule, another job, or a trigger in another app, like a GitHub release or a Stripe payment.

Popular workflows

Discord workflows worth automating first

01

Release announcements

A published GitHub release fires the trigger, Claude turns the changes into friendly notes, and Discord posts them to #announcements.

02

Server health alerts

An hourly SSH or HTTP check runs on your machine; if it fails, its failure handler posts to your ops channel.

03

Community digest

Once a week, gather new GitHub issues and releases, let an AI step write a short roundup, and post it for the community.

04

Game or stream schedule

Read upcoming events from a Google Calendar each morning and post today’s lineup to the channel.

How you connect

Connecting Discord

Discord connects with an incoming webhook URL. No bot, no OAuth, no Discord app.

  1. 1In Discord, open the channel’s settings, go to Integrations → Webhooks and create a webhook.
  2. 2Copy the webhook URL. It contains a secret token, so treat it like a password.
  3. 3Store the URL as a bearer token credential in Cronable. It never appears in a job file and is masked in logs.
Why Cronable

Your Discord automation, on your own machine

Runs on your own machine

Install Cronable as a Mac or Windows app, or on a server you own. Your Discord jobs, secrets and run history stay on that machine by default.

Built from one sentence

Describe the workflow in plain English and the built-in assistant builds the jobs, the schedule and the failure handling for you to review on the canvas. On every plan, including Free.

Unlimited runs

Plans count the jobs you define, not how often they fire. A job that touches Discord every hour costs the same as one that runs once a month.

Credentials encrypted locally

Keys and tokens are AES-256-GCM encrypted in a local database, referenced from jobs by name and masked out of logs and run output.

Questions

Discord automation, answered

Can Cronable post to Discord?

Yes. A Discord job posts a message to a channel through that channel’s incoming webhook, from a schedule, after another job, or as a failure alert.

Do I need to create a Discord bot?

No. An incoming webhook is all it takes: create one in the channel’s Integrations settings and store its URL in Cronable. Nothing to host or keep online.

Where is the webhook URL stored?

Encrypted in the credential store on your own machine. The URL carries a secret token, so Cronable keeps it out of job files and masks it in logs.

Can I post to more than one channel?

Yes. Each webhook belongs to one channel, so store one credential per channel and pick the right one in each job.

Can a Discord message trigger a workflow?

Not with the Discord integration, which only posts. To start a workflow from a chat message, the Telegram integration has a message trigger.
